#9 Make a Career

Finding a job you enjoy, that uses your skills, pays what you need, comes with a good boss, good co-workers, good benefits… guys, it’s like finding a unicorn. So, let’s find your unicorn! This is going to be a lot of storytelling – because if we can find ourself in someone else’s story, we can believe and we can plan and we can make it happen.

#10 Achieve Financial Stability

Fight Materialism

It’s very difficult to achieve financial stability if you’re consumed by, well, consumerism. It’s everywhere, steeped in our culture, and therefore, most likely steeped in your psyche. I did several things to overcome my materialism:

  1. Learn about Minimalism. I recommend watching Minimalism: A Documentary About Important Things just to start opening your mind to the idea that things won’t make you happy - which is the opposite message we receive all day, every day, from everywhere.

  2. Watch this free Yale course on happiness that talks a lot about the science behind what will actually make us happy and what won’t: The Science of Well-Being

Spend Wisely

Get Help

There are organizations out there that advise people on how to get out of debt, how to improve your credit, how to buy a car, etc.
